CMC provides all childhood immunisations and registers all childhood immunisations with the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR).
The ACIR is a national register administered by Medicare Australia that records a child’s immunisation history and provides an immunisation history statement to their parent or guardian. This statement can be used by parents and guardians as proof of immunisation for childcare and school enrolments and assists parents and guardians to claim the Australian Government’s Child Care Benefit and Maternity Immunisation Allowance.
Some childhood vaccinations are not free from the Government but can be advised about and ordered by our doctors.
Annual Influenza Vaccination
CMC offers the flu vaccine every year. Vaccines usually become available from around March to April each year.
It is recommended that you have your immunisation around April/May. Influenza outbreaks usually occur at the end of winter and early spring but can occur at any time.
The vaccine is free for people aged 65 and over, for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people aged 15 and over, for pregnant women and for all Australians aged 6 months and over with medical conditions that increase their risk of severe influenza. From 2018 it is also free for children from 6 months to 4 years.Click the link to find out more about the Immunise Australia Infuenza (Flu) Program
If you do not fall into these categories, you can purchase the flu vaccine from the clinic.
Yellow Fever Vaccination & other travel vaccinations
CMC is an approved Yellow Fever vaccination clinic, so we carry the yellow fever vaccine as well as most other travel vaccines.
Our medical staff are trained to advise on the use and administration of these vaccines.
